Electrical machines are such devices or apparatus which converts energy in one form to another to make the task easy. 
Such as transformers., motors, generators,

electrical machines are various types but in the basis of supply use we can categories in following two types. 

1-AC Machine
2-DCMachine

From the above categorization the first one means actually machines are more utilized in this time, because of nature of generation supply is totally ac type, that's why ac machines are more familiar to all of us. 

In beginning time first DC machines were arrived but due to it's high initial and operating costs, maintenance costs and poor efficiency in comparison to ac machines, ac machines won the race, which results we can see in our today life. 
It will be said worthful that now we are totally surrounded and depended on machines. 
Well, it was not so easy in its originating time, because there is a war hidden behind it's origin. 
Yes, of course ac v/s dc war. 
As I told you above that DC energy first derived and it was discovered by great scientist Thomas elva eddison yes of course who discovered after that electric bulb 💡 to utilize this energy but it was not for common people due to it's high costs, only patrician can afford it so common people were unaware with the magic of electricity. After some time when Serbian scientist NIKOLA TESLA introduced his ac energy works on electromagnetic induction, it reached home to home.
